Yesterday, Microsoft’s Phil Harrison said it was “as much or as little as they wanted”.
We thought the confusion around the amount of gameplay footage Xbox One’s DVR records was laid to rest yesterday when Microsoft Corporate Vice President Phil Harrison said in his keynote at the Eurogamer expo that gamers wanting to record their gameplay footage on Xbox One had an infinite amount of time to do so, as he said it’d be “as much or as little as they [gamers] wanted.” But a Microsoft representative has disputed Harrison’s claims, confirming that only 5 minutes of gameplay will be recorded at a time on Xbox One.
“We are committed to giving gamers the ability to produce high quality videos easily and quickly,” a Microsoft representative told Game Informer. “We can confirm the recording buffer in Game DVR is 5 minutes, which we feel is optimized to take advantage of high-quality production features and advanced social mechanics in Xbox One.”
PS4 records the last 15 minutes of gameplay.
Thanks, VG247.
