PS4 Goes On Sale February 22nd, 2014 In Japan

Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 will release in Japan on February 22nd, 2014, a Saturday, and also a first for Sony, as PlayStation has traditionally released in Japan before any other region.

Sony says one of the reasons for launching PS4 next year in Japan is because there needs to games that are unique to the country and its culture on the system before it releases, and said games won’t be available until early next year.

So a Japan launch in three months after U.S. and Europe, where the console will launch on November 15th and 29th, 2013, respectively.
