Your Xbox 360 Will Get 3 More Years of Support

Microsoft has confirmed that it will support Xbox 360 for three more years, after which games will stop being made for the legendary console.

That’s according to Xbox chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi, speaking at the Citi Global Technology Conference yesterday.

When asked about the profitability of Xbox over the years, Mehdi said, “You’ve seen us over the years constantly be focused on profitability and improving year over year. There are different points in the cycle of when you invest in new hardware.

“If you look at 360 that platform lasted for seven to eight years and it’s going to go for another three years. It’s incredibly profitable now in the tail.

“Some of these things take some time in the launch year in which you invest, and then they they play out over time.”

By then we’ll be three years into next-gen, and no one will care about the older brothers, right?
