Sony will reveal the release date of PS4 at GamesCom, the gargantuan company has made known.
Sony will kick off the show “at 18:00 BST ( 1PM EST) on 20th August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita,” said the firm in a post on its UK PlayStation site.
Adding: “Once the Koelnmesse opens its doors to the public, PS4 leads the way as gamers get to try out the next generation in console gaming for the first time, and there’s plenty to get excited about on PS3 and PS Vita too.”
PS4 and its biggest games will be playable on the showfloor, and the event will be livestreamed.
If Sony’s able to undercut Microsoft by announcing an earlier release date than Xbox One, it’d be another win for the company that’s already priced its console $100 less than Microsoft’s.
