Super Core Will Buy Xbox One No Matter What, Microsoft Reckons

How did you like Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal? Didn’t like the whole DRM fiasco that’s still brewing, right? Well, Microsoft believes you’ll buy the console anyway.

That’s according to Microsoft Studios corporate VP Phil Spencer speaking in an interview with OXM prior to the Xbox One’s reveal. “We believe that if all you want is gaming, you’ll still pick us, at the end of the day,” he said.

So the firm’s main goal is to reach the casuals, and that’s what Microsoft did on May 21st.

The super core guys, they will buy everything. They will buy all devices, but most people really only do buy one device, and if you’re going to think about what that one device is, we believe an all-in-one system that does the best games and TV and entertainment will be something that’s really unique.`

Microsoft announced at the Xbox One reveal event that the console will ship worldwide later this year.

I’m going to buy all consoles because it’s necessary for holding tournaments as I usually do. As for whether this gamble on a centralized entertainment center will pan out like the hailmary throw that the Wii did back in the day, we have to wait and see.

  • Rozartify

Oh god, Microsoft. Just shut up please. They really need to be more careful with what they say or just you know–don’t say anything at all.

  • rpatricky

You know the uninformed children will still buy it. Me…I will wait for a huge price drop first. I like how EA now hitched to MS for at least Fifa and maybe Respawn’s game and Mirrors Edge. Can’t help hope, if its all true, that it backfires big time! Just based on MS’s cryptic way of explaining things and what we know to be true, the head honcho must have had a stroke or is secretly working for Sony.

They’re backpedaling full speed now. MS is. And that’s good. We need them to start listening.

  • ernicegilbert

    Good point, MaxfReza.

  • rpatricky

That says “trust me” now doesn’t it? They are all about the dollar. I just can’t believe how ass backwards they started with the next gen system… The name alone is a horrible start and it got worse from there. Way out of touch with gamers. Key word “gamers”. I am fine pressing a button to switch to TV thank you. If I were developers, I’d be jumping ship.

  • ernicegilbert

Exactly. You’re revealing a GAMES console and never bothered to show games for the machine… Instead, you show TV, NFL, TV, TV. Really bad way to start… But MS said gamers will be stunned once they see what MS has in store… That’s only two weeks away.

They “believe that I’ll pick them” no matter what, but they haven’t given me any reason to give them any type of devotion like that. Forget this overpriced VCR, anyone who bothers keeping up with talk of next-gen consoles should already be sold to Sony.

  • rpatricky

I’m already stunned at how stupid MS has gotten.

  • ernicegilbert

Haha. Good one. Same Patrick! lol

why would anyone buy garbage for??
