Of Its 8GB Of GDDR3 RAM, Xbox One Reserves Only 5GB For Games

Xbox One will come ready with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a slower type of memory than PS4’s GDDR5, numerous reports online have confirmed.

According to a report on Joystiq, Xbox One’s innards include “8 Core CPU custom built by Microsoft” and the DDR3 memory. IGN also says that the console’s RAM is confirmed to be DDR3-spec.

DDR3 memory is omnipresent in electronic devices, GDDR5 on the other hand is designed specifically for high bandwidth video use.

3GB of Xbox One’s RAM is also said to be reserved for system resources, including apps and the console’s three operating systems, leaving 5GB for processes related to gaming.

Meanwhile Sony’s already hedged the system’s memory away from the game memory, giving developers full access to the 8GB  of GDDR5 RAM.

Well speaking from someone who owns the 360, PS3 and the Wii U, I am a true gammer. Not to mention a PC that is monstrous. As far as consoles go I prefer the 360 but if this is accurate Sony will mop the floor with the Xbox 1 in the graphics department. I mean think about it GDDR5 is reserved for video cards, and that is where most of your graphics muscle is.

Years ago when the 360-PS3 war was on the lines were very blurred on who was more powerful, Microsoft had the GPU and Sony had the processor. Now that is not the case, of coarse we are going to see multi-plats look the same. So with that all I have to say is lets go Naughty Dog I want a new Uncharted.
