As Of June 1st, GameStop Won’t Be Taking PS2 Trade-Ins Any Longer

It’s time you dust off that 16 year-old PS2 from underneath your bed and hurriedly take the thing to GameStop, because come June 1st, the  mega games retailer won’t be taking them any longer. And now you’re quenched. Thanks, Reddit, D’toid, GamingEverything.

I’m keeping my PS2, not selling it anytime soon. Actually, I do not plan on selling anything gaming related I own, like, ever. I kinda love collecting stuff, and still having my old PS1 with all its games, all still perfectly working, is worth a lot more for me than the less than $100 gamestop would give me for it (And actually they don’t take PSones anymore, but still…)

  • ernicegilbert

Yeah, I hear they’re giving a cool $7 for the PS2…. They’d never touch my beloved system for such a insulting price! Ever. Lol.

    That’s vintage, man. Memories, too!

  • Wolf1888

What?! 7 bucks?! Wow, that’s insulting! Any price below $20 shoudn’t even be considered (And I’m being really generous here).

  • ernicegilbert

Yep – that’s what many GameStop outlets are offering. PS2 pride alone is worth more than that, if you know what I mean.

Final Fantasy X, Onimusha, GT, God of War – Metal Gear solid 2 and 3! Ah, the pride of PS2!

  • Wolf1888

Ah man, you’re right! You can’t forget about all these amazing games!

  • ernicegilbert

Those were the days! But I’m looking forward to even greater ones with the upcoming consoles.

  • Wolf1888

Same here man. We’ll see some incredible stuff in the coming months!
