Eternal Darkness gets a spiritual successor?

First hosted on IGN, a new video teases something brought to us by “the creators of Eternal Darkness”, and as a fan of the first game, I see a ton of similarities in Shadows of the Eternals. It will be a crowd-funded game, and will be released on the Wii U and the PC in 2014, allegedly.

Why not call it Eternal Darkness though? It seems like Silicon Knights are going for a multi-platform game, and not one restricted to Nintendo platforms, and with Nintendo holding the rights to the name, the company has to change it.

Also, a fun fact: Nintendo patented the “Sanity Effects” of Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, and I’d love to see if Silicon Knights can come up with entirely new options, or risk a lawsuit from Nintendo. Either way, enjoy the game’s teaser below:
