Next Xbox Allows For Unlimited Number Of Friends – Rumor

Next Xbox Allows For Unlimited Number Of Friends – Rumor

Both the current generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles limit their users to a certain amount of friends, but the next Xbox from Microsoft will let you add 50 million friends if you so wish. PS4 on the other hand has upped the amount of friends one user can add, but there’s still a cap.

Apparently the new friends system on the next Xbox will be something like twitter, where instead of simply adding friends, users can now follow each other.

That’s according to a rumor from The Verge, quoting anonymous sources who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak.

Microsoft is also looking to adjust the way Xbox Live functions to more closely align it with the way other social networks, like Twitter or Facebook, work. The next-generation Live won’t have a cap on the number of friends a person can have. The way players add friends will also change. Now instead of it being a two-way friendship only, people can choose to follow one another, sort of like Twitter.

When reached for comment on the rumor, Microsoft only had this to say:

We’re excited to share more about the new generation of games, TV and entertainment on May 21, but have nothing further to share at this time.

What do you guys think about the new “follow” feature?

I imagine it to only work if they do it in a Twitter style of follow/following list. But tbh I think id rather have the choice of allowing or not allowing people to be able to do that which I think the currant version of friend listing is best at.
