Games Thirst – Amazing Life
AMD continues to sing PS4′s praises, this time with a few quotes that’s sure to get PC fans are bit frustrated, as the chip maker’s chief graphics product architect John Gustafson has said that PS4 “just blows away every serious computer on the planet with a console.”
Those were Gustafson words while speaking to o.Canada, adding that Sony could do a lot of things besides gaming with PS4.
The PlayStation 4 blew me away, conscious about being too positive about it because of course we have other partners that are competing.
Gustafson also praised the hardware design, pointing out that Sony did a great job with technical engineering.
The CPU and the GPU are on the same chip, which solves a lot of the problems (you don’t have to toss things over to a graphics card and try to get them back and forth).
He went on:
[PS4] just blows away every serious computer on the planet with a console.And I think, now I don’t know, that Sony realizes what they’ve created, and we don’t. They realize that it could be used for a lot of things besides console gaming.
Alluding to the PC-centric design of the PS4, Gustafson added:
And it would only take a few modifications and you’d have an amazing computer platform for all kinds of things.
PS4 will see a launch later this year.
