Your Next Phone Could Outperform Your PS3, 360

Back when they released in 2005 and 2006, Xbox 360 and PS3 were cutting edge technology, but 8 years later, the consoles will be outperformed by your next smartphone purchase. And while some people, especially those at Nvidia, see this as astounding, my reaction to the news was, ‘only now?’

“The PS3 and Xbox 360 are barely more powerful than mobile devices”, said Nvidia’s Senior Vice President of Content & Technology Tony Tamasi, according to Bit-Tech. “The next click of mobile phones will outperform [them].”

So around this time in 2014, Samsung, Apple and the like will unveil their latest phones that will display visuals like PS3 and Xbox 360.

Big deal.

By then, we’ll already be enthralled in PS4 and the next Xbox – and the phones will have to play catch up again – for another 8 years? Also, they’ll still be touch screen. So… yeah.

my htc one theoretically is comparable to the current consoles, it has more ram and a decent quad core processor, plus it displays in full hd. of course N.O.V.A. is still no Halo and touch screen controls are still annoying for the most part (except for angry birds and plants vs zombies). and the biggest games on mobiles are still less than their console or pc counterparts (someone should port minebuilder to consoles, i would so buy it)
