Phantom Pain Developer Shows His Face… Sort Of

So, ehem, Phantom Pain developer Joakim Mogren showed up as promised to an interview with journo Geoff Keighley and what a surprise it was. You’d think that Hideo Kojima, who we think is behind all this,  would show his face, right? Wrong! It was another person, with his face wrapped like the guy in Phantom Pain, sending even Keighley into a state of confusion.

This is one of legends, I’ll tell you that.

“Update on that Phantom Pain interview: Joakim Mogren was a man I’m pretty sure I’ve not met before. He did show some new images on his iPad,” Geoff tweeted.

Keighley later tweeted a pic of the man he interviewed, who claims he’s the developer of The Phantom Pain.

Keighley at least confirmed that whoever that guy was, it wasn’t Kojima.

“The guy was definitely not Kojima. He legitimately seemed Sweedish. And I’m skeptical if he is actually a game developer,” he added, and when asked whether there was any chance the game is Metal Gear-releated, continued with.”

So we’ll know tonight, then. But I must admit, although it’s confusing, it’s just like what Kojima would do, and I’m pumped to see the game. Keighley says footage will be shown tonight on GTTV at 1 am on Spike. We’ll have the footage here once it becomes available.
