Since cutting the price of PS Vita in Japan, the portable console has seen its sales quadruple, selling a convincing 62,543 units during the week ending March 3rd, according to Japan’s Media Create.
Sony’s handheld couldn’t topple Nintendo’s 3DS, however, as that machine saw sales of 77,439 – an average figure, during that same week.
The jump from below 10,000 to over 60,000 is indeed significant, but the true test will be whether Vita will be able to perform exceptional on a weekly basis, a la 3DS.
