Update: Trailer added. Details, too. Original story: Gameinformer said it would be unveiling Thief 4 today, but before the site got it’s chance, Xbox 720 screenshots of the game have been leaked online via a Russian games site (courtesy NeoGAF), and they look great. We have all below the break.
Game Informer details:
Our April cover story is a world-exclusive look at this next-generation stealth title. Series hero Garrett returns to the Gothic, industrial metropolis known simply as the City to steal any and everything that will make him richer. Unfortunately, the City is broiling with social tension as it is ravaged by a plague and lorded over by a political tyrant known as the Baron. In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game’s levels.
There’s been much talk about Thief 4 recently, so it’s not a surprise the game was announced today. The last game, according to reports, was bug-ridden, yet it still managed to garner a serious following, which allowed Eidos to get the go-ahead from Square Enix for a new title. The screens below are apparently from the Xbox 720 version, and I must say they look rather good.
The game will be a true next generation title, then, as only PS4 and PC were mentioned (although we know it’ll be coming to Xbox 720). Will Square-Enix forfeit the massive bases of PS3 and Xbox 360? We’ll know soon enough.

Square Enix plans to release Thief for PS4, PC, and other next-gen platforms sometime in 2014.
