Quenchables: PS4 Won’t Support CDs

PlayStation 4 won’t support CDs or Super CDs like the PS3, Sony’s told a Japanese journalist. Comes as no surprise to me, the answer can be found in the machine’s official specs sheet. Your daily quenchable.

well im starting to see what the pc players are getting at

  • Alex Mason

@narwall: Just a small sacrifice for a epic console.

  • narwall14

    i guess so

  • Ghost250

so they cut backwards compatibility but keep move, 3d, and that lame ass eyetoy. good move sony “Sarcasm” i don’t care about Backwards Compatibility but at the same time they claim they are about games. REAL GAMERS don’t give two craps about the stuff they’re putting into this system. what is more gaming than BC, you know i finally see where your coming from foxton. total fail on sony.

  • narwall14

    ghost you sound pissed

  • Ghost250

@narwall i just can’t stand the hypocrisy of sony how can they say that they are about the true gamer yet they don’t offer backwards compatibility and instead choose crap like MOVE, 3D, & EYETOY instead. those things don’t represent the true gamer.

  • narwall14

Well i said all this before when the vita was being treated like a trash but instead nobody listened and called me a whining bitch

  • Ghost250

@narwal i never called you a bitch, i just didn’t understand why you would want console ports on a handheld. because imo i would want games only made for the vita that makes it worth buying.

  • narwall14

see how far that whole NEW GAMES ON THE VITA thing got us and i never said you called me a bitch TGOD did

  • Alex Mason

@narwall:The Vita isn’t being treated like trash, what are you talking about?

  • nick

it is being treated like trash theres barely any developers working on the thing!
i really dont care about CDs, as long as you can play ps1 games vita the gaikai service from launch ill be happy.
and hopefully ps2 games will be there at launch too.
i hope they find a way around licensing and can have all the games on there, because allot of the games i want to play, like the simpsions hit and run, or the looney tunes games, its really going to be tricky figuring out who owns the rights to the games now.

  • smoge

Im with nick on this one too. Don’t own a single CD, and if it means sony can make the console £2 cheeper I’m in.

  • narwall14

so when I say the vita is being treated like trash I know what I’m talking about LMAO

  • Alex Mason

I think that the vita is somewhat being treated like trash. But the recent price cut has made the Vita sell out in Japan, did any of you guys know that? Do you know that developers will now start to want to make games for the Vita? I’m pretty sure that the Vita is going to have a price cut in NA and EU this year, probably at E3.

I mean Ubisoft is already making new Vita games and that is a great sign. Just wait guys, you will see. The Vita will reign triumph just like with the PS3.

  • Ghost250

@Alex Mason actually the price cut hasn’t even taken affect yet. the japanese are buying it at full price. though only because the japanese are getting all those monster hunter clones and RPG’s. Sony isn’t really doing anything for the vita when it come to North American Or Europe. total fail on sony is that the vita is not getting a price cut in the west.

  • Alex Mason

@Ghost: Actually the price cut has already been implemented early. Retailers have just made the price lower to allow people to buy the Vita to clear out the shelves and it seems to be working. Also that Monster Hunter clone is called Soul Sacrifice and it is looking good. Also you have no idea that Sony will not implement a price cut around the Holiday Season or E3. Also, PS+ has been epic for EU users. We are getting MGS HD collection and have gotten a shit ton of epic games.

  • Ghost250

@Alex Mason i don’t like boss hunt games, sony should have made a portable demon souls game.

  • Alex Mason

@Ghost: Okay you don’t like Boss Hunt games. You are one person versus the millions in Japan who bought the Vita for the game and in North America.

  • nick

allot of big third party publishers are not creating on the vita!
whats 1 game activision is making for the vita?
whats 1 game EA is making for the vita?
whats 1 game konami are making for the vita?
whats 1 game ubisoft are making for the vita?
what is 1 game 2K are making for the vita?
and dont forget bioshock is apparently not happening.
actually, come to think about it, besides soul sacrafice and KZ mercenaries what other games are releasing on the vita this year?

  • Ghost250

@Alex dude your acting as if 50 million people bought the vita, the vita has only sold 4 million. that is by no means a huge install base at all.

  • Alex Mason

@Ghost: You don’t think that the Vita will sell more? Just look at this picture in Japan: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=24ou3y8&s=6

The Vita is selling out everywhere. It’s going to grow bigger in just below 1 year. There are going to be a millions Vita users in Japan by then or more.

Also @nick: Ubiosft are already making 2-3 games for the Vita. And I’m pretty sure many more are making games. You want to know how? Read this: http://ubm-tech.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=17177&item=136803

Control F that and search for: “Dedicated Gaming Handhelds Showing Minimal Support”

  • nick

    and those games are?
i dident say no one is making vita games, i said THERE ARE NONE RELEASING THIS YEAR!
if there was they would of been announced by now!
the vita is NOT selling out everywhere!
gamestop have it for sale on there website, so does best buy, so does ebay, so does several UK stores, so does EB games, so does big w, so does target, so does kmart, so does toys R us, so does haervey norman.
    need i go on?

  • Alex Mason

@nick: What I said was that the Vita was selling out in Japan. Hmph, I never said anything about US. Also, trust me, E3 will be Vita’s Heaven.
