Games Thirst – Amazing Life
The internet is only talking about Sony, I swear it. The latest report, coming from The Wall Street Journal, makes known that the console will be able to stream games.
According to the Wall Street Journal, “Sony Corp. is planning to offer technology to stream games to its next videogame console,”
The new technology, to be unveiled Wednesday along with the new console, will allow users to play games delivered over the Internet, these people said. The streaming service, they added, is designed to use current PlayStation 3 titles on the new console; the new device is also expected to play new games stored on optical discs.
The move to enable PS4 to stream games comes without surprise, as Sony, even while in difficult financial straits, chose to purchase streaming service Gaikai for $380 million, so there’s no doubt in my mind that Sony intends to make good use of the company.
This would be a significant move for Sony, as the firm could use the service to its advantage on PS4 and other platforms, including its mobile products, as a new subscription service that would give gamers access to a huge library of titles. They could even rent games through the service – the sky’s the limit with this one.
PlayStation 4 gets a reveal on February 20th, 2013, in New York City, at the The Hammerstein Ballroom, with capacity 2,800 seats.
