exactly why they need a little extra.
why do you think games have such long load times?
die in FC3 and it takes forever for the game to reload, PC you respawn instantly!
skyrim you enter a house and instantly am in the house, consoles you have to sit and wait for it to load.
plus adding that little extra will give developers a piggie bank for use in 4 years time when there really needing that extra boost.

Optimizing your games to use RAM efficiently is a must. Just because you have the RAM doesn’t mean you need to use it all.

WTF did you get that from?
windows uses over 1GB, than the rest depends on what game and what tech its using.
ive got 32GBs of RAM in my PC, and some games use up over 60% of it.
PC games are crappy console ports now too, so once next gen systems release watch the usages double or triple!
than you have multitasking, rumors say you will be able to pause a game, go into the PSN store buy a game, update the game your playing, install the game you just bought, jump onto the net and look for a guide for the game your playing, than jump back into the game.
if we really are going to be able to do that were going to need allot more than 4GBs of RAM!

@nick dude the PS4 does not need 8 GBs of ram when games on PC barely use over 1 GB when they are maxed out. its unnecessary

one reason i find this so hard to believe.
$ony is going to go against tradition and announce it outside of their home country, but not only that there going to announce it in the territory that treats them by FAR the worst!
but than there still going to release it first in their home country?
right.
again sadly no mention of the one thing that actually matters!
VRAM!
PC games look so good compared to console titles for so many reasons, but mainly because of higher textures.
VRAM is the ONLY thing, well disk space obviously, but the main thing limiting that!
WILL the ps4 have 3GBs of VRAM like most PC cards these days do?
i sure hope so!
happy to see $ony trying to push for 8GBs of RAM though, however is that for dev consoles or retail?
if thats for dev consoles than theres a serious issue because that means retail systems only have 2GBs!
same amount as the frigging wiiu!
please $ony, i dont care if it costs a thousand bucks, WE NEED 8GBs OF RAM!!!!!!!!!

plus another thing is why would sony put something that small on the controller, it justs sounds weird to me. all it would actually do is just jack up the price on the controller. like its serves no purpose. they could easily just put an actual share button on the controller than a touch pad. i don’t believe it tbh. i think were gonna get a dualshck esque controller but there will be no touch pad or screen. i think it’ll make the controller bigger.

I’m starting to dig more and more that “Share” button. So many times I’ve told myself “If only I had an HD-PVR (Recording device that captures all the footage) to keep that awesome moment!”. Now it looks like I won’t have this problem anymore, and I’m exited!
