Major Nelson adds: “And it’s on.”
Get ready your wallets, gamers. Microsoft has essentially given a date for when the next Xbox will be shown, which is E3 2013, or precisely 159 days from now.
Longtime Xbox front man Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb must have gotten clearance from Microsoft when he upped a countdown on his blog leading to E3 2013, with the best hype quote we’ve seen so far this year.
And it’s on
I’ve always predicted that new consoles from Sony and Microsoft would release this year. Microsoft has now got the hype train rolling, and the internet is already buzzing with excitement.
Your move, Sony.

Have Usher dance again.
It’s a great marketing strategy X-Box.
hahahahaha
its going to be interesting to see if both announce their systems at E3, share the limelight, and have a shorter hype campaign to release.
or if they announce them sooner, like they did last gen announce the systems before E3 than use that as a platform to build hype for them that way there not sharing the limelight each has already had their stage at their private show.
vita was announced in feb at a new playstation event in tokyo, ill bet my hat the ps4 will see the same thing.
the 360 was also released at its own private show.
it just seems a poor move for either to be announcing at E3, especially when theres going to be so many people striving for the limelight.
steam has finally announced their entering the market, when are they going to unveil that?
ninty is going to go in guns blazing trying to make as much of a advantage out of their head start as they can.
both $ony and M$ really need to get their systems out there as soon as possible, with their own private showings that way there is no sharing, everyones attention is going to be on one and only one thing, and that way they have more time to build up for E3 instead of saying hey heres our new system, heres what it can do, and heres the games.
theres time restraints too, they could fill up their whole presser just explaining what the features will be, totally ignoring the games.
M$ always has a BIG showing at CES, which coincidentally is next week…….
