Character’s implementation into the game hasn’t been sorted, 2K Games says.
In Borderlands 2, you can play as one of four distinct characters (five if you download Mechromancer), however Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has made known that they’re now working on a new protagonist to join the fray.
That by itself was great news when Pitchford tweeted it, however the upper people at 2K Games have dampened the mood of optimistic fans, essentially saying that though the character is being worked on by Gearbox, its implementation into the game is another story.
Said 2K Games:
The necessary systems are in place for us to create additional playable characters, however the decision to make use of those systems has always relied on the community’s response to the Mechromancer.
So that’s that. If you want it real bad, download the Mechromancer if you haven’t already. Because it’s all about numbers, people.
