Thirst Conversations: Which Console Got Better Press Coverage This Generation?

360

The seventh generation of consoles is dead. Yes, it is… Well not until Grand Theft Auto 5 comes out in March, but that’s just a few months away and then, we can kiss PS3 and Xbox 360 goodbye to their respective graves.

Just today we learned that both consoles managed to move the exact same amount of units worldwide, even though Microsoft had a full year’s head start and PS3 was significantly more expensive. But Microsoft’s machine suffered some setbacks, too, with the RROD era being Xbox 360′s dark ages.

Anyway, the press helped in shaping this generation’s outcome, and because of it, I believe the Xbox 360 benefited in multiple ways. Do you agree with me? Was it PS3 or Xbox 360 that received the better press coverage this console generation?

Let’s talk. Do it here: The official Games Thirst History House.

Both received adequate coverage, but I don’t want to leave my PS3! I just both it 2 years ago! So much money. :c

I think the PS3 has gotten the most press coverage, but it has been overwhelmingly NEGATIVE. Every other story about Sony, the PS3, or the Vita are doom and gloom. Even when publishers and devs are too blame for the issues, somehow Sony is to blame. For example, Skyrim and Bethesda games running like s**t, COD Declassified being the inside of an a**,and the constant issues with COD games on PS3. But somehow Sony gets crapped on.

@Benzo…i think u should write an article about Consoles and games… as it happened this year… and please feel free to rant. Anything is fair game… but i think the wii got the most positive overhyped coverage…

LOL!! afrotravis,I’m just a frustrated gamer that loves to vent on this site. But glad that so many share my pain and frustration. And I’m with you on the Wii. Super positive and super duper overhyped. Thank the super glowing Wii stuff for the focus on the casuals and the hardcore taking a backseat. Also for the overhyped under performing Kinect and the Move. Could have done without both those things and gotten more 1st party games from xbox and some advertising from Sony for…..well any game lol.

dude, nothings dead till their replacements come along which wont be for another year at least!
and allot of third parties are starting to say only 1 next gen console will be releasing next year, so even longer than that.
as for press about the same really.
