Dead Island Riptide gets box art and release date

Dead Island Riptide has just been announced to hit store shelves on April 23rd in North America and April 26th globally for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. At launch, the game will receive a Special Edition with “tempting extras in your survival arsenal” including exclusive weapon mods, a digital strategy map and a unique character skin. Said edition will only come for the first batch of copies, much like EA does their Limited Editions.

“Additional gameplay mechanics, all-new gorgeous locales to explore, more types of zombies to provide constant threats, an additional character class and the best co-operative zombie action experience in gaming”, says Deep Silver. The publsiher is also seeking fan feedback about a Collector’s Edition, so don’t be surprised if one is announced.

    please tell me the stupid weapons braking system is gone!
    whole point of this game is to have fun ripping zombies to shreds, which is kinda hard to do when your worried about destroying your favorite weapon you worked so hard on finding and perfecting.
    constantly found myself kicking zombies and resorting to cars instead of having fun with knives and baseball bats.
    kinda defeats the purpose, no?
