Rare Working On “Extremely Early Prototype” Xbox 720, Job Listing Says

Xbox 720

Can a week pass without a new PS4 or Xbox 720 leak? No, and that’s because next year we’ll see Microsoft and Sony unveil their new consoles. Accelerating the news today is Rare, with a new job ad revealing that the developer is working on an early version of Xbox 720.

According to the listing, Rare is “working with extremely early prototype hardware co-developed with teams located off-site”.

It goes on to say that “in this role, you will be a crucial part of a passionate team of gameplay engineers, working with designers and producers to create stunning, groundbreaking game entity reactions & input interpretation.” The position is for open a gameplay engineer.

“During prototyping you will occasionally be working with extremely early prototype hardware co-developed with teams located off-site. You will need to showcase possibilities to inspire our designers, quickly iterating even when the underlying platform may be unstable or rapidly changing.”

The ad boasts the new game Rare is helming, calling it a “jaw-dropping, never-been-done-before Rare project,” and further giving hints that it’ll be integrated into Kinect 2, or whatever it’ll be called, as it lists “natural user experience work, such as touch, motion or voice assisted games,” as a requirement.

id like to say a new banjo kazooie, or even better a espionage game, a modern day goldeneye but with a much more heavy emphasis on spy espionage.
but we all know thats not going to happen, we all know this is going to be kinectimals 3.
    sigh.
M$ buying rare and restricting them to this kiddy crap, is THE biggest injustice since $ony sold 2 of the industries best ever franchises!
and to antivision of all companies……

@nick it doesn’t even matter, Rare is not Rare anymore. all the main figureheads the drove the creation of all the titles they are known for are gone.

just because the figureheads are gone does not mean the whole original team is.
they still could, and probably would turn out another awesome banjo game if they wanted too.
