thats exactly the problem though ITS NOT "gorgeous".
in fact BO2 looks exactly the same as black ops, which looked slightly better than W@W!
in short its hardly 2012 quality technology, that is what fans are "upset" about!
the ps3 version from memory is not even in HD for crying out loud!
so what your 60FPS, but woopty do hoo!
not that impressive when your not even HD!

I don't think Call of Duty and Frostbite would work. CoD is all about a fast pace, and bullets flying everywhere. 60 FPS is a huge thing for the franchise. It's about "okay" ballistics, and knowing that you'll know how to play the damn thing once you grab a controller/keyboard-mouse.
---
Battlefield, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. You have to figure out everything; bullet drop, recoil, attachments, classes, character animations.
---
I can't point my finger at what IW Engine "needs", apart from prettier visuals, but it definitely needs stuff, as everything does. More animations, and more believable animations, would be a good start, too. Fixing the automations (like knifing teleporting you 5 meters forward), and generally other glitches within the engine. You know, mister Vondehaar, not looking pretty is not the only complaint people have about the "technical performance" of the engine.

It would just be awesome if one day if DICE and EA would just let Activision and Treyarch use the Frostbite 2 engine for 1-3 years, but won't let them release any games with the engine. Then Activision and Treyarch could see what the hell is wrong with their engine. I know that it is great, but hell dude.
