This weekend I could have been enjoying Medal Of Honor: Warfighter’s beta with some of my friends who’ve been anticipating the game. Friends from around the world who’d band together and experience a new shooter with gladness. But that’s not going to happen because the majority of my friends only game on PS3; and the beta is exclusive to Xbox 360.
Thanks, EA. No really, thanks.
This may sound a bit selfish but I’m no longer interested in Warfighter. Why would EA make the beta exclusive to a particular console, not even mentioning when and if it’ll come to the other is beyond me. And anyone thinking about Battlefield 3′s PS3 beta, that was exclusive for just one week – it came to Xbox six days later.
On a more general note, this whole exclusive and timed-exclusive deals third-party publishers sign are irritating and, I believe, disrespectful to the gamer. Why would anyone on Xbox 360 play MOH: Warfighter before someone like Benzo, who’s been lauding the title ever since its announcement? The same goes the other way around. See, all this does is make one group feel like their crowd is superior to the other. It’s a failed strategy.
Also, wouldn’t it be wiser if EA had made the beta available for both consoles in tandem? Wouldn’t that have been a better marketing strategy?
Seriously, why would I even bother with Medal Of Honor: Warfighter again, when Black Ops 2, Halo, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Dishonored are around the bend? A gamer should be given incentives to buy a game, not the other way around, right? Anyway…
This Columbus day weekend will be mostly quiet for me, as I’ll forfeit fun activities to stay home and work on some Games Thirst business. So, yeah. That’s it.
What are you good folks up to? Let’s hear it!
Be blessed!
