Developers at Nihilistic were pretty talkative, and through various tweets, they have unveiled a ton of information for the upcoming Vita exclusive Call of Duty.
The developer started saying on a Twitter post that they would “love” to include Zombies, but that is not their responsibility, because “Only Activision and Sony have the power to greenlight Zombies mode for CoD Vita. We would love to do it if they ask. But it’s not our call.”
They later said that “development is crossing the finish line”, only to later add downloadable content is “up to Activision”, and reminding us that “nothing has been announced.”
Then, it was the modes and killstreaks’ turn. A tweet revealed that there will be six multiplayer maps and also revealed that the game will sport seven killstreaks: Spy Plane, Care Package, Counter-Spy Plane, Mortar Strike, Sentry Gun, Advanced Spy Plane and Attack Helicopter. Revealed were also the multiplayer modes, which are: Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed Deathmatch, Drop Zone, Free-for-All and Team Tactical, the last one being a playlist including all the other modes.
Another tweet reveals that “No theater mode and no additional game modes have been announced.” Folks at Nihilistic confirmed that the minimum number of players in private matches is two, and the maximum is five. Regarding the game’s classes, there will be: 5 Preset classes, 5 Custom slots, and 1 ‘Near Shared’ class slot.
Sadly, one more tweet revealed there will be no killcams, and they also confirmed the “Hostiles” mode is single-player only, which is a pity, as it was seen as a replacement for the Zombies mode. For multiplayer, private matches will be created using the Party app, and hybrid “private + public” matches will be created if your party includes less than eight players.
Lastly, another tweet said that “Back touch is used for breath holding in Sniper scope mode. Melee is activated by touching anywhere on front except buttons.”, while later Nihilistic added that “Activision’s central audio group was very helpful in capturing the authentic audio for weapons in the game”, followed by another reveal stating that development by Activision “started about a year ago” and Nihilistic “were brought in shortly thereafter.”
