UK Charts – FIFA 13 Makes History

UK Charts – FIFA 13 Makes History

FIFA 13 has topped the UK’s All Prices video game chart, breaking the one million units sold barrier and in the process joining an elite group of titles.

Only Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 have broken past the one million units sold in one week mark.

FIFA 13′s performance is up 27 percent over last year’s FIFA 12, accounting for disproportionate 71 percent of last week’s sales. The game, along with Borderlands 2 and World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria, helped make last week’s numbers irrelevant with a sales increase of 196 percent.

Last week’s number one title, Borderlands 2, slipped to No. 2 with a fall of 60 percent in sales, F1 2012 dropped 38 percent now sitting at No. 3, and PES 2013 is down at No. 5.

impressive, remember this is UK sales only, and its not a week, its only been out since Friday, three days, one of which was a Sunday where trading rules are severely restricted! still over a million sales in three days from a population of 65million aint bad, 1 in every 65 people (including women, babies, the elderly) in Britain have a copy of fifa 13!

“Including women, babies, the elderly.” Haha. Babies play FIFA too? I had no clue, Foxton. :D

But yes, the number’s quite impressive. I have a feeling it’d do even better if the release was simultaneous around the world, just like Call of Duty games.

no they dont play video games thats what im saying, out of every single person who lives on this island 1 in 65 of them will have a copy of fifa 13! if you narrow it down to households, or number of 12-40 year old men it would be more like 30-50% of all people
But yeah really strong sales, i think they release it in other areas first so they can test the servers, in hope that when Europe comes on board they can handle the huge influx of players, however i still foud it almost impossible to play a FUT online seasons game on friday. I think this is also the first week fifa 12 finally slipped out of the top 20 since its release exactly a year ago!

Got it. And yes, big games like FIFA almost always have server issues when they’re newly released. I expect that to be sorted soon.

man, for once the term every man and his dog would be a understatement!
looks like were going to have to come up with a new term.

Yeah, haha. But a great game deserves all the sales it could get. I’m happy.
