PS3 will be supported “at least until 2015″ with first-party titles

Sony’s VP of hardware marketing John Koller has revealed the company will continue to support the PS3 until at least 2015 with a range of first-party content.

In an interview with Gamespot, John Koller, Sony’s VP of hardware marketing, said that the PS3 has “a lot of great content [is] coming, and over the next 2-3 years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup.”

“We’re going to continue supporting the PS3 for the next few years. Absolutely. And we’re going to continue supporting it not only that long, but as long as there is a development spigot that’s running hot. And I can tell you right now, the development spigot for PS3 is very hot. A lot of great games coming.”

Does that mean that we’ll see the Playstation 4 (or Orbis) before 2015? A launch in 2014 or even late 2013 is very likely, as the Playstation 3 will be supported until 2015, and that might mean it will be to give people time to buy the new console. Your thoughts?

if anything this helps the rumours of ps4 being released next year.
$ony always supports their platforms for 3 or so years after replacement, so if the ps4 was to release in 2013 than that would put a ps3 drop around 2016.
if it was not coming out till later, 2014, then the 2015 date seems a bit short.
all ill say is i hope the other team from ND, the ones who did uncharted 3, are tanking away on a launch title!
if theres ONE team $ony needs on launch its ND!
and i mean LAUNCH, not this launch “window” BS!
