Metal Gear Solid Announcement Set To “Shake Up Industry” Next Week

When last did a gaming event made the entire games industry take notice? I can’t remember. Maybe when Final fantasy XIII was announced for Xbox 360 in 2008, remember that? Next week, however, games legend Hideo Kojima is promising to “shake up” the industry with some massive news.

The industry-rocking revelation will be announced at Metal Gear Solid’s 25th anniversary, happening in Tokyo, Japan, next week, according to Kojima Productions Report podcaster Ken Mendoza, speaking on the latest recording of the podcast. But while Mendoza’s comments were tamed, revealing that there’ll be “a lot of exciting announcements”, it was Chris Johns, Mendoza’s sidekick who let loose the stunner.

“A lot of things to look forward to next week, He said, “not just for fans, but I think the industry’s gonna be shook by what we’re going to be able to present here.”

Mark your calendars, the event happens on August 30th.

    - MGS4 on Xbox 360
    - MGS5 Announcement in general
    - MGS5 either a PS3 exclusive, Xbox Exclusive, or Multiplatform Title

    or the big one MGS5 a PS4 or Xbox 720 title

    50 bucks says this will be something everyones expecting, so it wont be “industry shattering”.
    and exactly why everything this gen has been a massive disappointment!
    developers REALLY need to stop hyping everything like the second coming!

    My wish? A complete FOX engine remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. Plus, a Vita-exclusive Metal Gear, which is what Kojima will do, sooner or later. It will sell some systems, too. I’m even curious if Sony hasn’t proposed it to him yet.

    I’m worried if they say “METAL GEAR SOLID IS NOW A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER EVERYONE”. That would be the most horrifying and rage-inducing thing that would happen in this gens-consoles. Also narwall, Nhisilistic Software didn’t send me a reply e-mail to my e-mail to them telling them to change MP to 16vs16, sorry mate we just have to deal with it. :(
