Dark Souls PC Resolution Fix

Dark Souls PC Resolution Fix

Although Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition has just released for the PC today, there already seems to be a major issue – the resolution. In the game, it appears that the rendering resolution is fixed at 1024×720. To combat this a NeoGAF user named “Durante,” has created a modification that will enable a higher rendering resolution.

Durante has posted information on the mod here, including instructions on how to use it and where to download the mod. He warns to use it at your own risk, since the mod has only been tested on his computer.

This is one reason I love the PC community, got to love mods! Thoughts on the fix? Comment below!

exactly why i refuse to buy the game!
if a single man could do it, why couldent one of the biggest developers in the world, with one of the biggest publishers in the world, with WAAAAAAAAAY more of a budget than this guy do it?
    just sheer laziness!

I doubt From is one of the biggest developers, for various reasons. To their defence, they haven’t really touched the PC before, not to mention such a huge game with a ton of variables. But nontheless, I don’t like bugs and all, obviously.

dude, does not matter how small the developer is these things are not exactly difficult to fix!

When you’ve not worked on a PC before, yeah, it can be difficult. And we don’t know if they were planning to fix it, the guy’s patch came out too soon after launch. I myself am working on Unreal and Unity for Starblind’s games, I’m researching a lot and using the engines too, so trust me, it’s not as easy as some might think.

nick we all know the reason why you wont buy it. because you can’t beat it stop making excuses. btw a locked 30 FPS with 720p resolution boo fucking hoo. theres nothing wrong that, just more of that PC spoiled brat bigotry.

so then whats the point of buying it on PC if your stuck at console settings?
and why is this the ONLY PC game that sells at the same price as console games?
EVERY PC game is 80 bucks here, thats been the standard for years!
this though is 100, same as what the console versions released at.
im sorry but i refuse to support lazy pathetic developers!
dont try to sell me a outhouse and tell me its the white house!

It’s 35 where I am, 25 less than console games, so I don’t know about you, but it’s good for me. Standard PC price.

Plus, people signed the petition asking for a console port. From confirmed more than twice (I can remember two) in interviews that it’s a straight console port, with minimum changes. Now, people whine about what they asked for, that’s beyond me. They didn’t try to sell you the White House or anything, that’s irrelevant. You knew what you were getting.
