Weekend Quencher 08/18/12 – Movies! Games! Back-To-College!

Weekend Quencher 08/18/12 – Movies! Games! Back-To-College!

See what Team Games Thirst is up to this weekend – from writing reviews to back-to-college preparation, and theater trips. Be sure to fill us in on your weekend plans, too!

Christos Chatzisavvas: Nothing too big for me this weekend, but Monday kicks off with Sleeping Dogs Limited and Tuesday with Darksiders II Collector’s, and their reviews within the week!

Stephen Chapman: Twitch TV gaming, and writing, of course.

Martin Zamora: I won’t have much time to play games this weekend. My mom just got back from a business trip so I’ll be spending time with her. I’m also going to be picking up the DVD of The Hunger Games this weekend. Lastly, I’ll be preparing to go back to college.

Ernice Gilbert: The past week has been extremely busy for me, as I’ve been on the go 24/7. From taking care of some external Games Thirst business, to hosting a minister who’s visiting from away. I haven’t gamed for a week! Hopefully this weekend I’ll get back on track.

I also wanted to check out The Bourne Legacy. I hear it’s good, is that so?

What’s your weekend looking like? Share it! and be blessed!

im trying to rush through sleeping dogs so i can get onto darksiders 2.
ive put about a hour into that, i dunno looks like my fears of death being so simplified and the combat being so much simpler were sadly accurate.
sigh, its the not so amazing spiderman all over again!
why does every single god dam game have to be so simplified to the point where a freaking blindfolded deaf 2 day old dog could finish it!?
just roll and mash square, not exactly complex and difficult!
as for sleeping dogs i dunno, its a bit boring!
every mission is the same, go talk to this guy, some goons spawn, beat them up, go talk to this guy, some goons spawn, beat them up, go back to the guy you started the mission at, mission complete!
    rinse and repeat!
gives the term repetitive gameplay a whole new extreme!
i dunno maybe once you get further into the story, and unlock some weapons hopefully it will become allot more interesting!
but so far its been a snooze fest!

    I don’t know why… It’s a trend accomplished by playtests… But I don’t like it.

the controls are really annoying too.
so many times ive hit RMB to counter a guys attack as he flashes red, just to have my character stand there like a stunned mullet and get hit!
or im running towards a enemy and hit f to throw them to the ground and he just runs through them.
i really wish the game would hurry the ^%$# up and give me a gun, because the useless imprecise H2H combat is REALLY starting to piss me off!
