The Last Guardian still on the PS3, and being worked on

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios chief, told Eurogamer that the game is still under development, but had to be re-worked because of serious technical issues.

“The team is still working on it very hard. There are certain technical issues they’ve been working on. That’s the period of time when the game, looking from the outside, doesn’t seem to be making much progress. But internally there is a lot of work going into creating the title.”

What’s taking it so long? We don’t even have a demo, or a new trailer, apart from bits and pieces of discussions and rumors we put together.

“We had the game playable. At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve. So the engineering team had to go back and re-do some of the work they had done.”

Luckily, the game still remains on the PS3, as Yoshida explained. “The game is developed on PS3.”

This game is going to be torn apart by reviewers. For some reason, the more a game is delayed, the pickier reviewers get. I hope it comes out soon and is absolutely amazing. I wonder how much this game is costing to make. It has been in development for years, so it has to be a lot.

Which is stupid. Many years of work doesn’t mean good result. Diablo III honestly sucked, played it once and never again, Duke Nukem Forever was fun but felt like a launch title for current consoles and not a 2011 game, but The Last Guardian can even be a GOTY if done correctly.

Atop of that, we have Diablo III scoring greatly while sporting broken servers for days, last-gen graphics and a stupid story with no characters that make you care for it, and it scores way higher than Duke Nukem Forever, still, where DNF had just not-so-great graphics and some bugs, plus somehow loose controls. Can you spot the difference? Let me do it for you – Blizzard. It’s like a sacred animal for the reviewers, while Sony, 2K and the rest are free to be ripped apart. That’s the difference.

i wish they would show SOMETHING!
does not have to be gameplay footage, just whip together a new trailer, something, ANYTHING, to show the game IS making progress!
for all we know the game has been canned and there just saying this to stop the shit hitting the fan!
