Sony’s Japan Studio revealed two new, interesting IP’s during Playstation’s GamesCom conference. Both are interesting, PSN titles, true to the spirit the Japanese developers have kept throughout their games.
Rain involves a young boy, who chases an invisible girl who turns visible in the rain – only to understand he shares the same fate. The whole tone seemed melancholic and sad, coupled with soul-crushing music. In these aspects, it should remind you of Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian.
The Puppeteer, however, is a far more colorful and vibrant game. It’s about a boywho was trapped by the maleficent “Moon-Bear King” to a black castle, where he was turned into a puppet. The king eats his wooden head when the boy gets on his nerves, and the kid then proceeds to steal a pair of magic scissors allowing him to slice parts off of the environment to attack all who stand in his way. A beatiful, strange, 2.5D side-scrolling adventure that will surely keep us interested.
