New Prince of Persia Reboot?

New Prince of Persia Reboot?

In the Ubisoft Official Forums, this photo was posted up by user blueobelix. Written at the bottom of the image is “POP_Zero_2″, because of this some have speculated that this is the first image of a Prince of Persia reboot called “Prince of Persia Zero.” Prince of Persia Zero was first referenced by Jacques-Belletete, an ex-Ubisoft art director, in 2010. When describing the reboot, Belletete stated,

“So I had this little team, and [our Prince of Persia] was actually in the contemporary world. Think a bit Day After Tomorrow, but replace the snow with sand and everything. It was really wicked. But it got cancelled, and then we did all the Far Crys.”

The reboot was also said to have introduce radical new mechanics to the franchise. Ubisoft has not released a statement in reference to the photo as of yet.

I was preparing to write about this :P
I’d love a new one, though Ubisoft has Assassin’s Creed for “realism”, as in, realistic movements, world, humans, super-powers etc. If they want to do a sequel to 2008′s Prince of Persia, the cel-shaded one, I’m all up for it though, this one looks horrible as a PoP title.

Great minds think alike right? :). I’ve never played the Prince of Persia series, so I’m inclined to ask why do you think it looks horrible as a PoP title?

    Definitely ;)

Well, the Prince always was a caucasian, mostly with a stubble, and medium-length hair. If the guy that’s in front of the camera is the Prince, you can understand why I think it’s horrible. While the models and the environment look great, if that guy is the Prince, then Ubisoft is pulling another DmC reboot. I just hope this one’s not an emo.

    WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
oh come on ubisoft we NEED another PoP game!
one of THE best series ever created!
at least give us a sequel to the fantasy reboot, that was different but so much fun!
or even better give us a darker more sinister toned sequel like PoP the 2 thrones.
by far the best PoP game!
as much as i love assassins creed, ubisoft needs to give their montreal team a break and let them get back to what made them famous!

I think it was forgettable, and combat was rather weak and easy.
