Russian blogger Sergey Galyonkin is sure Bethesda has acquired Stalker rights from GSC’s Sergei Grigorovich, giving the firm rights to the franchise and its extended universe.

so sad the franchise died the way it did!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is ONE of the VERY few games PC gamers actually have to show for themselves!
it was such a awesome game and always really showed the true potential of current hardware.
it was such a unique styled game too, it managed to take a seriously overdone genre, post apocalyptic, and actually make it new, fresh and innovative!
as i constantly keep saying uniqueness and originality in this industry is illegal!
pump out yesterdays shooter and you become a millionaire!
actually try and introduce something different and push the industry forward and your sent to the poor house.

STALKER was a very good game. I got into it because I loved the survival and somehow horror theme, with everything based (not truly, but you get the idea) around a terrifying real event. Plus, the endings were… not gonna spoil, but for those who got them, you gotta love them.
