While Vigil Games, developer of the upcoming Darksiders II is busy putting the finishing touches on its highly anticipated game, the firm is already thinking about the future. They’re now hiring to develop their next title, a first-person shooter.
It was a job listing on Vigil Games website that revealed the studios’ plans, asking for a senior gameplay programmer with a “deep knowledge (professionally or as a gamer) of FPS mechanics and gameplay”.
According to the job listing, the ideal candidate would be “an avid FPS gamer with strong interest in pushing the genre forward creatively,” and would consider “prior experience working on an FPS title” as a plus.
This falls in line with THQ’s new boss’ comments last month, when he said “Darksiders II is very interesting but I think I can get that team to make other very interesting games.” Fans of Darksiders immediately protested, but it’s clear that Rubin has new hopes for Vigil Games.
Thanks, Videogamer.
