Microsoft – Wii U Is An Xbox 360

Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer believes Wii U is simply an Xbox 360 posing to be something new. The guts of this man.

It was in an interview with GamesIndustry Spencer let loose feelings, offering nothing but praise for Nintendo’s latest effort.

“I think their Pro Controller makes a lot of sense with the platform they’ve built. They are building a platform that is effectively a 360 when you think of graphical capability” he said.

“Now they are really making an on-ramp for the back catalog of games that are on 360. It is easy for those games to move over the Wii U. They’ve moved the buttons around, and they’ve made a controller that feels familiar for 360 gamers, so I get why they are putting those pieces together.”

Fighting words, wouldn’t you say?

I think thats funny! MS is clearly ticked that the pro pad looks like as 360 pad. But in all honesty WHO THE HELL CARES!?!?!?! Some say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery….like jumping on the casual wagon and embracing the motion control thing with an inaccurate,over hyped piece of equipment.

how does he know how powerful the wiiu does?
hell NO ONE does!
ninty still have not released the final dev kits yet.
according to current dev kits earlier estimations of it being slightly more powerful than the ps3 and 360 are fairly accurate, and apparently nintendo have upgraded a few things since then so the final dev kits will have more juice.
cant remember the exact spect but current dev kits have a 6 core CPU based off a power 7 architecture running at 3.3GHz, 1.6GBs of RAM, and a radeon 2GB DX11 compatible card.
actually allot more powerful than ps3 and 360!

Yeah, guy’s talking gutsy things. We shall see, though, at the end how Wii U turns out in terms of prowess.

if he was to say feature wise its the same as the 360 than he would be right.
everything the wiiu can do the 360 can do!
which is exactly why im concerned about it, ninty has always had something the competition does not and that is what has carried them across the line.
this time, what will be that factor that makes people go buy it?
but to say power wise is just stupid, no one knows what the final unit will offer power wise!
