“For us, the fastest growing segment of our business is clearly digital and clearly digital services and ultimately Electronic Arts, at some point in the future… we’re going to be a 100 percent digital company, period. It’s going to be there some day. It’s inevitable.” – EA Labels president Frank Gibeau speaking to Gamespot.

i honestly cant see anything going digital only!
yea it happened with music but that is such a small medium, and it really never changes its requirements!
your not adding higher resolution to it, 3D support, things that require it to evolve.
movies and games however do.
what are we going to do when uncharted 6 comes out?
sit there and wait for a 300GB game to download?
and who is going to pay for the constant HDD or SSD or whatever they use upgrades?
IF games drop and become significantly cheaper than ok its worth it, but i cant see it happening!
buying games at disk prices is already too expensive, let alone spending the same amount on downloading it yet you need to pay for internet access and a HDD upgrade!
plus not to mention how will you sell it once you no longer want it?
how will you let a friend borrow it?
i can see this industry loosing ALLOT of customers if they force digital on them!
not saying its never going to be the mainstream it will soon most will download their games instead of buy them at retail.
but i just cant see people giving up their physical medium for something that is no better.
for something to replace something it has to be better, more convenient!
DD is not better, and if anything its LESS convenient!
