The plans Microsoft has for its next Xbox which it’s actually calling “Xbox 720″, reveal tons of information, including the infamous always-online feature, Blu-Ray drive, and a machine that’s six times as powerful as the current Xbox, amongst other juicy details.
All this information’s been made available in an apparent leaked Microsoft document, revealing all the firm’s plans for the console up until 2015.
Scribd.com had the document posted on its site, but was forced to take it down because it received pressure from Covington & Burling LLP, a law firm representing Microsoft.
The Gist Of It
The document reveals a list of new features coming to Xbox in holiday 2012 and 2013. A worthy mention is XTV – a new feature that’s to see its full debut come fall of next year alongside the new Xbox.
“XTV gives next-gen TV experiences only available on the Xbox”, claims the document, making the leak more believable as it’s stunningly close to Microsoft’s recently announced SmartGlass.
The document also speaks about Xbox 720 in length, calling the machine “the only entertainment box you’ll need for entertainment and gaming”.
Kinect will also see an upgrade: Kinect V2, it’s called: “KV2 understands your room and you better, and your whole family can now play together”.
It goes on to brag about next-gen games being the best on Xbox 720, making mention of your “phone/slates/PCs being able to synchronize nicely with the upcoming console.
Then There’s Fortaleza
Fortaleza is basically 3D via Kinect 3D Glasses, being implemented by WiFi in 2014 and in 2015, 4G.
All this for the asking price of $299.
The list goes on. Here are the leaked documents:
