Bethesda’s told Eurogamer that it still intends RAGE, the new FPS IP developed by id Software to become a big franchise, even if the first outing’s performance didn’t meet expectations.
Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines said the company still has faith in Rage, and it’s “certainly our hope and certainly our intent” that it becomes a big franchise for id.
However when they’re stopped by fans, the only question that’s asked is, “where’s Doom 4″?
“We’re looking at doing some things with Rage. But obviously the first thing out of anybody’s lips now when we talk about id is not, hey, what else is up with Rage? They’re asking the question they’ve been asking for five years, six years, seven years, which is, where’s Doom 4? What about Doom 4?
As far as where we are with Rage, the future for that is still TBD.”
Personally, I did not enjoy RAGE. Thought it had a lot of potential, but it wasn’t executed properly. What killed it for me, however, was the game’s multiplayer. Made no sense. How in the world can you make a first-person shooter’s MP component vehicular combat only?

so disappointed how under rated the game is!
one of the best weve had this gen!
that and crysis 2 are not only 2 of the best shooters this gen, but 2 of the best games this gen!
^ “best games this gen!” LOLOLOL XD
i actually really liked this game! andi look forward to further games in this fracnshise, yeah the gameplay was a bit tedious and monotonous at times and the storyline was sometimes hard to follow, but the graphics were absolutely jaw dropping, the gamelplay was pretty smooth and i actuaolly thought the plot and story line was a pretty good. i liked the semi open world, and little mini games like the card collections and races etc. Im hopeful they will make the necessary tweaks and the 2nd installment could be a very very competitve game and look forward to its release
