Assassin’s Creed III on Wii U won’t disappoint, Ubisoft reckons.
“Assassin’s Creed 3 on the Wii U looks gorgeous in HD,” Alex Hutchinson, creative director, said in a new developer interview.
The creative director also discussed the Wii U exclusive features: an ever-present map on the GamePad screen, and quick weapon change with touch controls.
“It’s by far the biggest of the Assassin’s Creed games we’ve built to date, so having a map, a larger map at your disposal at all times [on the GamePad] is a big win,” he explained. “It’s something that allows you to plan your navigation. See when enemies are near by. So the bigger the map, the better.”
He went on: “During combat on the Wii U you always have access to all your other tools or weapons on the controller itself, so at any point you can very easily switch between say your tomahawk and knife, to your hidden blade and sword without having to go into a menu.”
Assassin’s Creed III sees a launch late October on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It’ll launch alongside Wii U when said console’s released.
