It’s Official: David Jaffe No Longer With EatSleepPlay, Tells Fans To “Stay Tuned”

Twisted

Jaffe just confirmed that, as of today, he is no longer employed at Eat Sleep Play, breaking the news to his twitter followers.

“As of now-June 1st-I am officially no longer a co-owner of/employee of @EatSleepPlayInc! Thanks for having me on the crazy ride ESP! Much appreciated! I’m really proud of the game we made! And now…on to new adventures! I hope you’ll stay tuned and join me on the new journey twitter peeps! Gonna be fun! :)

Last month Jaffe said he wouldn’t be leaving the hardcore crowd and settle in the broswer games space as was rumored. Instead, he’ll be staying true to gaming consoles, more pointedly the shooter genre.

“There is a gun in [one of the games],” Jaffe told IGN. “And you hold it. And all the things that I can sit here and passionately discuss and preach to you are absolutely things that I’m thinking about doing if it turns out the game we’re thinking about doing gets made next involves a gun and a person holding a gun.”

He did say he was still enthusiastic about the browser space, incredibly so, because of the ease of access and the success its been for developers such as Epic Games. However what he’ll do next hasn’t been determined as he’ll need to meet with partners to first solidify the ideas.

“I remain incredibly enthusiastic about the browser space in terms of its ease of access, the number of people who can experience the game,” he said. “But it doesn’t mean that’s where we’re going to end up.”

makes me wonder why he left the team.
sounds like to me the studio was going to a more casual position so he needed out of there.
shame hes leaving the company he created after only releasing 2 games under it!
and, well, lets be honest neither of those were amazing games!
lets hope this puts the man back on track………..
