Peter Molyneux is asking the question whether E3 is still relevant as, according to him, this year’s show will lack luster because Sony and Microsoft are saving all the heat for next year. To save the day, Nintendo must “blow us away”, he argues.
“Sony and Microsoft are holding their breath on next gen,” he pointed out. “[It will be] interesting to see how they pad out another year. Price cuts, form factors?”
“Nintendo’s slightly lack lustre Wii U is going to have to blow us away with better specs and great first party line up,” he added.
As for E3, Molyneux is questioning the event’s importance altogether: “Is the biggest news that E3 itself runs the risk of being outdated, or perhaps it already is?” he said. “The real challenge is how the players are going to adapt to the mounting pressure of Facebook, Apple, Social, Cloud, Multi-Gaming.”
Thanks, Kotaku.

This guy really needs to shut up. Fable 1 was awesome. Fable 2, ok…Fable 3…no…. Basically it’s been downhill since Black and White.
Instead of bitching why don’t you actually be productive, Molyneux? The only increasingly irrelevant thing around here is you.
dont EA, THQ, antivision, ubisoft, 2K, and so on and so on exist?
he makes it sound like ninty, M$ and $ony are the only ones who present at E3!
yea $ony and M$s confrences will probably be boring, but that does not mean E3 will be boring!
especially if the rumours are accurate, for instance dead space 3 and mirrors edge 2 being revealed.
than seeing some much needed gameplay from titles like ascension and the last of us.
He is a bit of a sensationalist, isn’t he?
id say drama queen!
