The case between Activision and Call of Duty creators Jason West and Vince Zampella took an interesting turn today when the publisher coughed up $42 million.
The sum isn’t part of the any settlement, but according to Polygon, Activision did some homework on the case before it actually goes to trial, and decided that it was better to pay the $42 million instead of taking a whole bunch of ex-Infinity Ward employees to court. Now, their focus will be solely on Jason West and Vince Zampella.
The $42 million paid constitutes payments withheld from former Infinity Ward employees who now work at Respawn.
