Valve’s confirmed that Portal 2 has sold a respective 4 million units across platforms since its release last April.
That’s according to Valve’s David Sawyer, who revealed the news in an interview with Neogamr about the new map editor DLC released today.
“The Puzzle Maker lets people try their hand at creating puzzles while also letting them discover, share, and easily play what they and other Portal 2 players are coming up with,” Sawyer added.
“So the editor needed to let anyone pick it up and not just use it, but enjoy the process of using it. We think people will have fun with the Puzzle Maker even if they never share their work with anyone else.”

not bad, not bad at all!
who said games dont sell unless there a FPS and have COD in the title!?
It is good news for the industry, but still alarming. COD will sell 4mil in a freaking day maybe less! And thats a damn shame.
@Benzo: It’s not a shame, man. Many people, including me, really enjoy Call of Duty… They must be doing something right, right?
I meant the shame is that it seems that only shooters sell the insane numbers. Thats why we get so many FPS. I play FPS, COD included…but lots of other games are deeper, with better stories and gameplay. But these titles dont set records for entertainment releases. If COD came out in Nov and 13 months later had sold 4mil across all platforms, can you honestly say it wouldnt be called a failure? Because it would be called the biggest flop in gaming history.
And to be clear….I WILL play Black Ops 2. Not a COD hater, just a concerned gamer.
Great points, and I totally see and agree with you. Perhaps it’s us, gamers fault? Because we are the ones who neglect these other titles and jump onto the COD bandwagon. Perhaps, we should diversify our tastes? I definitely agree with your points, but at the end of the day, the blame rests with us, wouldn’t you say?
Yes sir EG…you are on the money with that. Gamers are to blame and I think that the group that frequent this site is doing their part by having open discussions about games and playing many many different titles. Another reason why we keep coming back to GT!!!!
Thanks, bro! And yes, you’re right. The GT crowd is very open when it comes to games. They’re definitely not COD drones.
