God Of War Creator: Don’t Be Afraid For GOW: Ascension

God Of War Creator: Don’t Be Afraid For GOW: Ascension

And it’s because Santa Monica has never in the past let us down.

That’s what David Jaffe, the guy who created God of War told IGN, adding that from what he said, he thinks “it looks cool. It looks like another great, impeccably executed Sony Santa Monica game.”

As for the multiplayer portion, Jaffe believes it’ll be well executed, and nothing he saw caused him to doubt.

“Sony Santa Monica, and certainly that team, really hasn’t done anything ever to let people down as game developers,” he said.

“If it turns out to be the case that the single player is watered down because of it, then I think they have some justification. But I don’t see any evidence of that, and I don’t see evidence of that based on the team they are.”

Jaffe once thought of adding multiplayer to God of War, however instead of a multiplayer mode, he was thinking of adding co-op. That, as you’ll find out soon, was a “stupid idea”.

“There were moments where I was being a total idiot, and it was a Red Sonja version of Kratos,” he said. “It was kind of like a hyper-violent, screwball comedy where they hated each other but they had to work together – which is totally stupid.”

God of War: Ascension will release next March exclusively on PS3.

Please, Nick. God of War III was the best GOW game ever released. See what happened there? It’s all opinion.

  • nick

    its not all opinion.
GOW 3 had terrible writing, terrible story, plot holes the size of the grand canyon, repetitive gameplay, and seriously lacked the puzzles and brutality the game was known for.
GOW 3 was the best in the series just like R&C all for one was!

GOW 3 was great. Story was tight, it looked awesome, and brutality…..ripping out eyes, gutting horse dudes, and RIPPING THE HEAD OFF OF HELIOS! ALL BRUTAL! Im with EG on this one! Played every single GOW game and GOW 3 …bangin! All opinion sir nick

GOW 3 is an amazing game and I do not even know what you are talking about. The repetitive nature of the gameplay has been the same throughout the series, the puzzles in the first 2 games did not make the game better, but rather more frustrating. They consisted of a bunch of timed trial and error puzzles. It did not take any brain power, but rather testing something over and over until you did it within the time period. Lack of brutality? Are you kidding me? Did you even play GOW 3? It is one of the most brutal games out there. The writing is not that bad, and has been that way throughout the series. I would not say any of the games stand above the rest story wise. I played the first 2 games throughout the weeks before the 3rd came out and GOW 3 in no way felt any less of a GOW game. And, I hate when people say, there are so many plot holes, but give no examples. Please explain to me the plot holes.

ive already said what i have to say if you dont want to listen to that theres no point me arguing with a brick wall!

I asked you to expand on your opinion so that I can understand it better, but you just ignore it because you can’t. Yeah I disagree, but I am willing to listen on certain points so that I can understand better, but of course, you just throw out the idea of “plots holes the size of the Grand Canyon”, but you can’t back it up when someone asks you to expand on it. You are the exact person that pisses me off when bashing a game. If you can explain to me the plot holes, please do. I can agree about the writing to a point, but the writing has never been that strong and the story has always been extremely shallow. It is your average revenge story, but it is done in an awesome brutal way. If you want to make such huge claims about the problems with the story telling but not back it up, then how can I agree with you.
