GameStop Slashes PS3 Price To $199, Official Announcement At E3 2012

Mega games retailer GameStop has cut the price of PS3 by $50, bringing it to a much more affordable price of $199. GameStop made the move because it anticipates Sony will slash PS3′s price soon, with an official announcement coming at this year’s E3.

i dont think cutting the ps3s price would be the best move.
there finally making a profit on the system so they really cant afford to drop it.
not to mention its already 50 bucks cheaper then the WIFI vita, drop it another 50 bucks and it will be 100 bucks cheaper!
making it so much harder for consumers to justify the price gap.
250 for a 250GB ps3 with HDMI cable, 2 games of your choice, a extra controller, and play TV.
or 350 for a WIFI only vita and NOTHING else!
if anything the vita needs a price drop!
not to mention $ony does not have many exclusives releasing this year, sly 4 being the only one most will be interested in.
if your going to drop the price do it when theres heaps of games exclusive releasing for it thats where companies make most of their profit.
but making a loss on the system, then pointing customers to third party games because they dont have many first party stuff releasing is not exactly a good idea.
but hey thats the reason why $ony has been bleeding money posting FY loss after FY loss for the past 4 years!
$ony needs to hit hard at E3 this year announce a multitude of new games releasing in the next 12 months, then announce a vita price drop and then and only then should they think of dropping the price of the ps3!

not yet still too soon.
dropping the price of the ps3 would make it so much harder for people to justify the price of the vita!
i dunno, maybe vita price drop at E3 it DESPERATELY needs it!
then ps3 price drop at TGS.
and no hooray for next gen, my wallets crying as it is buying all these games let alone having to buy new systems, controllers and accessories!
