PS Vita was supposed to be the most popular in Japan, but the very place the console should be performing stellar, is the very place its faltering. Sales of the fledgling portable machine has arrived to an all-time low in the orient.
3DS: 72,115 (Last week: 121,921)
PlayStation 3: 19,370 (23,771)
PSP: 14,804 (18,356)
Vita: 8931 (12,105)
Wii: 7099 (9292)
Xbox 360: 3,764 (1317)
PlayStation 2: 1355 (1374)
DSi XL: 793 (941)
DSi: 743 (771)
The machine’s experiencing a different fate in the west, as sales have been pretty decent, so hope is not yet lost. I believe all Sony needs is a good game or two to stir up its Japanese base. Something like Monster Hunter.
Thanks, Videogamer.

I agree that all that is needed is a Monster Hunter for Japan to take off. Vita is an awesome piece of hardware and once the games start coming like Resistance, Monster Hunter, and a few others sales wont be an issue. I think Vita will be a slow burner, which aint a bad thing. Everyone seems to want Sony to fold up and I say competition is a good thing! Viva La Vita!!!!
It is selling worse than the psp? ouch!
interesting to note how much the ps3 is outselling the xbox 360, yeah neither figures maybe massive, but still its selling morethan 5 ps3′s to every xbox 360
i agree with benzo VIVA LA VITA
its been outsold by the PSP in japan since release!
$ony really needs to start releasing some games for the dam thing!
i have not touched mine since i finished uncharted last year!
