Epics Games’ Mike Capps has told Gamespot that Bulletstorm 2 will not happen because of disappointing sales numbers, and that People Can Fly, the dev behind the shooter is now working on something new.
“I’d love to go back. I think there’s more to do with Bulletstorm,” said Capps.
“Heck, it kind of ended wanting more. I’d love to see another project,” he added.
Capps also confirmed that some work hard already begun on the sequel, however because of poor sales, everything stopped.
“From a sales perspective it was good, but not amazing. I think EA was hoping we’d do better,” he said speaking about sales.
Capps did pin some blame on the PC version of Bulletstorm, claiming that piracy had a great role to play with its demise.
“It didn’t do very well on PC and I think a lot of that was due to piracy. It wasn’t the best PC port ever, sure, but also piracy was a pretty big problem,” he contended.
As for People Can Fly’s next project…
“We found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly. We haven’t announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon,” he said.
