Assassin’s Creed III Creative Director Thinks The Internet’s Ideas Are “Boring”, Stupid

Alex Hutchinson is the creative director of Assassin’s Creed III, and he quite simply doesn’t like the ideas the internet put fourth pertaining to locations for the game. He says they’re “boring”, like epic fail boring.

“People on the internet suggest the most boring settings,” the director told OXM. “The three most wanted are WWII, feudal Japan and Egypt. They’re kind of the three worst settings for an AC game.”

So, yeah. Keep quiet, internet. You know nothing, apparently.

The internet, while full of interesting and intelligent people…is also full of richard noggins who think that they can make music, movies, games, ect ….better than those who do it for a living. I for one agree that I dont want to play AC set in Egypt or feudal Japan….

japan would make a brilliant setting!
much better then america at least…….
    think about it.
    what would you rather climb?
traditional japanese houses surrounded by beautiful japanese maples?
    or well nothing.
japan would make a far more artistic and architectural setting then what america would!
one of the best parts of the AC series has been its location.
ME for the original and europe for the rest are 2 of the most world renowned locations for architectural beauty!

Nick that’s terrible reasoning. Japan would be so uninteresting it’s not even funny…AC isn’t just about climbing stuff…you need rich history that fits into the overall plot…And I know the Japanese have a rich heritage, but it just wouldn’t fit into AC’s mood…..What, fighting warlords in feudal Japan? Rubbish when it comes to AC games.

actually im with nick, feudal japan is perfect. not only that but an example of what there could have been is segments which shows the fall of the Mongol Empire. thats perfect for AC.

Ghost, none know better than you and I the proper stories that can come from Feudal Japan, especially since we’ve played all the Onimusha games…..Will it fit properly into AC’s mechanics and patterns of story, I doubt it’ll work.

theres so many stories they could do with it!
local wise japan would be allot more interesting than america and so would story wise.

Regardless of where AC III was going to be set, it was always going to be a must-buy game knowing how Ubisoft do things, especially the guys at Ubisoft Montréal.

well the makers of ac are dumb the only way to make a good game is to listen to what people what not to go on what you think is good.
