Bye Bye Bungie

Bye Bye Bungie

As of today, April 1st 2012, Bungie.net no longer tracks Halo stats.

It’s been a long road since I started playing Halo 2 and linked my Xbox Gamertag with Bungie.net. It’s been a lot of fun but the ride is over, for Bungie. You can now track your Halo stats here.

For some reason I believe Halo Waypoint won’t be quite the same as bnet. To be frank, I feel an emotional attachment to bungie, as do all Halo players. at least since Halo 2.

Well, this is the end, beautiful friends. After more than 10 years, this is Bungie’s final Halo update. It’s been a lot of fun, and we’d like to thank each and every one of you who made this journey with us. Bungie wouldn’t have been anything without you. Hopefully, we’ve left you with some good memories. So, until we meet again, stay gold. Bang….

“We have followed your careers with great interest here on Bungie.net, and you have gifted us a mountain of heroic moments to memorialize,” Bungie said. “It is with a sense of awe that we step back and admire the impact that you have had on our games, and upon our studio.

“Thanks for sharing your stories with us.”

Bungie released a massive infographic that compiled stats over the years. Click the image below to see the full-sized version.

a sad sad day for one old series.
in one way im glad to see bungie stretch out and try something new.
in another way its kinda sad to see them leave.
i know its in safe hands especially since 343 is pretty much made up of ex bungie staff, but i dunno it just does not feel the same.
